Transparent Antenna Solutions for Adaptive Coverage Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Roll out of 3G or expansion of maturing 2G, 2 12 G networks – could promote implementation of more flexible infra structure solutions, as resource limitations can make further development or ad-hoc expansion difficult, with the currently used traditional fixed sector base stations. Vendor transparency and possible system transparency is a current feature of most roof installations in 2G and 2 12 G networks, i.e. the antenna system can be acquired independently from base station equipment vendors. This paper describes Adaptive Coverage System (ACS) solutions that maintain similar vendor and system transparency, so no extra supplier constraints are put on possible installation of an ACS in current and future networks.

Optimization Capabilities of LMS and SMI Algorithm for Smart Antenna Systems (RESEARCH NOTE)
In the present paper convergence characteristics of Sample matrix Inversion (SMI) and Least Mean Square (LMS) adaptive beam-forming algorithms (ABFA) are compared for a Smart Antenna System (SAS) in a multipath environment. SAS are employed at base stations for radiating narrow beams at the desired mobile users. The ABFA are incorporated in the digital signal processors for adjusting the weight...
متن کاملREPORT ITU-R M.2040 - Adaptive antennas concepts and key technical aspects
1 Introduction This Report identifies the key adaptive antenna concepts and describes their technical aspects. The traditional approach to the analysis and design of wireless systems has generally been to address antenna systems separately from other key systems aspects, such as: Adaptive antenna technologies are best implemented with an overall system approach, where all the system components,...
متن کاملThroughput Optimization for Non-uniform Linear Antenna Arrays in Multicell Wimax Systems
AWiMAXmulti-cell system conforming the IEEE 802.16-2004 standard which supports multiple antennas and OFDM modulation is considered. Focusing on the uplink, we show that Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) degradation caused by fading impairments can be considerably reduced by exploiting adaptive modulation/coding techniques in conjunction with a non-uniform antenna array with optimi...
متن کاملAntenna Based Self Optimizing Networks for Coverage and Capacity Optimization
Antenna tilt is a powerful parameter for optimization of a cellular network as it has the most direct impact on shaping the best-server boundary of a cell and hence on the coverage and interference parameters of the network. With the advent of Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) antennas, tilt optimization lends itself well to antenna based Self Optimizing Networks (SON). In conjunction with automatic...
